Principal Scientist, hiPSC Platform, Neuroscience

Pasadena, California, United States

AcuraStem is a preclinical-stage company focused on neurodegenerative diseases. It is advancing novel therapeutic approaches for ALS and FTD using patient-derived stem cell models. AcuraStem has developed the iNeuroRx platform, which utilizes human iPSC-derived cells to mimic neuromuscular and neurodegenerative neuron diseases such as ALS and FTD.

The Principal Scientist is expected to manage and advance AcuraStem’s current platform technology, which utilizes human iPSC-derived various CNS cell types to model neurodegenerative disease to recapitulate disease phenotypes. The platform will be employed for target discovery/ validation, lead selection, and biomarker evaluation. AcuraStem seeks individuals with deep knowledge of iPSC neurodegenerative disease models, high-content imaging, and assay development. The candidate will manage external collaborations and work with internal cross-functional teams to advance early discovery research milestones. The successful candidate will be a passionate individual who is persistent and tenacious in developing novel technology and executing a plan with high-quality scientific results. The position is responsible for aligning the strategic direction of the platform team with the overall business strategy. It will leverage innovation in developing and commercializing new, high-performance, and cost-optimized assays.
