Dr. Rafael Renteria, Principal Scientist, hiPSC platform

Dr. Renteria is a neurophysiologist with over a decade of research experience in synaptic transmission and plasticity in disease models. He received his B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of California Irvine and his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Austin. After his Ph.D., Dr. Renteria completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the lab of Christina Gremel at the University of California San Diego. Prior to joining Acurastem, Dr. Renteria served as a principal scientist at Creyon Bio, where he led the development of high-throughput in vitro assays for neurotoxicity and cardiotoxicity to evaluate antisense oligonucleotide safety.
